cheers for the pic, but yes they wor, and the fuse is intact :-( not what i was hoping for :-( any ideas where to be looking now? cheers

If you have a multimeter, there should be a constant feed to the seat plug. Undo the plug under the seat, using the probes on the meter, test the plug from under the carpet for voltage.

im having no joy finding the breakers :-( im probly being a retard again. does anyone know exactly where i should be looking? ive pulled the panel off in the drivers footwell to expose some plugs and fuses, but none of the fuses are maked 'seats'. any ideas? cheers in advance

What am i looking for now? is the circit breaker the round black thing? if so what do i do next? cheers

Try running a ground and live from the battery directly to the seat. Im not sure if the circuit breaker works open or closed circuit. Might be worth trying to get hold of another one from a member or JeffTT. The power goes from the battery to the fuseable link in the engine bay, then onto the circuit breaker. If the fuse is fine then its the breaker. HTH

cheers for the help, there is power to the circuit breaker, but not to the seat plug, but theres still no power there even if i bridge the breaker?? im going to have to assume theres nothing wrong with the seats themselves because they both failed at the sdame time and theres no power to them. ill have to get a new breaker i guess, but i cant see how it would work :-(

Get hold of another and if it doesnt sort the problem, then do a bypass direct to the battery, i have a feeling that the breaker will be open circuit to feed the seat, once the breaker has gone its closed circuit, hence the continuity reading, i could be wrong, but it might work the opposite way to a household type breaker.

cheers pal, ill have a go. just phoned the local scrappy, what a bunch of lay *******s!!! i said do you have any nissans in with........ NO he says and hangs up! buggers

one thing that puzzles me is that if its open circuit, then would it not work with no circuit breaker in at all????? bloody thing!

The breaker acts as a fuse, continuing the circuit, so no breaker, no circuit. You could use the feed wire to the breaker, jump wire to the seat loom feed, it all shares a common ground anyway.

Yes fuse is in the engine bay, so if there was anything major the fuse would blow

many many thanks for your help, im going to bypass the breaker for the timebeing. do you know what the blue wire on the plug is? operator presence or something?

cheers for the help pal. ive just discovered that the windows wont work with the breaker out, but will with it bridged ??????? got to be sometihng between the breaker and the plug. deffo going to hardwire it now

Yes of course, they use the same fuse in the engine bay and having looked at the schematic above, the power window also uses the breaker. Try doing a continuity test of the ground, one one the ground of the seat plug and one to the chassis/body. If you get continuity then its the feed side of it you need to trace the problem.

Ok clearly the issue is between the breaker and the seats, the schematic shows the power windows and the seats use the same breaker with the windows feed just been directed through and ignition operated realy so they do not work with the keys out.

The breaker is NOT the problem you have a cable or more likely connector fault, has any work been done recently in that area? maybe a loom connector left disconnected?

Most times the easiest way to resolve the issue is to run a new cable in to the circuit not working (the seats) you could still retain the breaker in the circuit by running a cable from the drivers seat to the fuse board and pick up on the power out of the breaker as it was originally. As the seat power supply is linked a single cable will supply both seats without an issue.
