Fancied something to entertain me whilsty the zed is ill (cancer in the turbos and engine).

Its all there ready to go back together, just taking time.

 

I wanted something fun, Cheap, not too slow and something i could do a track day in.

A few car crossed my mind, 306 GTI, 172 clio, but it needed to be RWD!

Mx5, S13.. Didn't really want a turbo.

Decided on an MR2 because of the 750MC racing on motors TV.

 

I wanted to spend about a grand, but wanted a Rev 3 as it looks better and im told is a better engine. 174BHP and RWD.

Bid on a few on ebay, but at the last minute they were going well over a grand. £1500 for one with 120k miles, £1100 for one with 170k miles...

Ignore the yellow paint, it will be coming off!!

 

Wasn't on bids so i think that helped me as im sure its worth over a grand, got £10k of invoices! FSH, £1100 spent at toyota last year on a new throttle body. New Calipers. Cam belt and clutch done a couple of years ago.

The drive home was faultless bar a bit of undertray loose at the front catching the floor over some bumps. Great on fuel too (so far).

Nice little car you have there, dont see many with a sunroof either.

I've got a turbo version, had it 5yrs or so, no real problems at all.

didnt even know llandow had a racetrack, its only 10 mins from me, seen the go karting track and even camped at the campsite

I had one aswell a few years back. The rev 3 has more power but is acctully on paper is slower than the rev1 and rev2. but in the real world there in no differance lol!!!

i had an mr2 before my 300 loved it to bits often considered getting another one. if i ever do change from the zed it will be an mr2 mine was the 2 litre gts

good price for track day that is, shame my zed wont be back on the road until march or april otherwise I'd be up for going!

I had a MK2 G-Limited MR2, LOVED it! Super fun cars to drive, loved the targa roof, great fun. Friend of mine owns a garage called Woodsport in Durham, he takes the V6 engines out of Camrys and puts them in MR2s - they really are fun to drive then!!

Seriously considering another 2 to see me through uni as my cheap fun car, til graduation as i could afford to keep the corolla too

The more i drive it the more i like it.

Im too big for it tho, need a smaller steering wheel for a start, and it would be nice to relocate the handbrake lever!

I miss my MR2 now ! I had a Rev2 Tubby great fun. Nice one matey hope you have many hours of fun in it :thumbup1:
