Hi all, removed my water sodden spoiler today after it completely freezing solid and splitting everywhere. so now an excuse to remove and smooth or replace with a fibre glass one. After spending a full afternoon removing glue and bonding it cleaned up really well with not a hint of rust in sight. went to open boot lid and it almost smacked me in the chin its so light, before it wouldnt even stay up!

 

question is i have a miossing section of trim in the middle (in pic).

do we have to buy a new trim full one piece or when i buy the infill part does it cover it?

Thats how its supposed to be, its a gap for the hand to lift the tailgate, although most lift it using the spoiler lol

thats normal mate to have the gap in the middle . i suppose you could get one off a breaker and cut a section out to fit the gap

i dont rememeber seeing it before, was i covered buy the "sponge" and will the new trim infill cover it once again?

the spoiler justs masks it . stick a bit of black tape on the tailgate to fill the gap . make it less noticable

Looking at the rubber, only the bottom ridge can normally be seen and the upper fits inside the tailgate. The perspex strip or spoiler would cover the top part of the rubber, making it less visible

cool, ive just had a look at some pics with spoiler on and i can see where it came from now.

removed mine for the same reason and again expected holes and allot of rust but nope Z suprised me there, im gonna get the perspex strip and maybe low level or 99spec spoiler :)

yer gonna order the strip and carbon effect it..
