URGENT HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!

Need to fix a coolant leak on left hand side turbo. One of the two hoses has a small split. I can see them, BUT how the hell do you get in there! Any ideas or advice please, I know ive got big hands compared to the Japanese but please! Tried from top and from underneath, removed everything i can apart from the intake pipes to the turbo. Help

Roy..

You mean the two hoses to the drivers side turbo - one of which is L shaped, and heads up then toward the rear of the car, and the other is straight, and goes up to the underside of the inlet collector area?

If so, then I've just finished (well nearly) putting my car back together after one of those hoses sprang a leak on mine..

The only way I could get decent access was to take the intake collector off.. which isn't easy (lots of vacuum hoses, coolant hoses, petrol hoses, gaskets, and the damned EGR tubes with their stupid upside down bolts)..

Hope that helps (a little frown.gif )

Need any help on the job above - just shoot me a mail..

yes those bastards!

I presume you mean the intake that goes onto the turbo via the rubber sleeve and two jubilee clips? Will try in the morning if ive got any skin left on my hands!

Cheers mate, could try dangling the wife above the car, shes got small hands, but has just spent £150 on new nails!!!!!

150 quid on nails.. either you or your woman has toooo much money. in either case im jealous

She has far too much of everything believe me!

Thanks aaron for the emails. It looks like I've either got to take the intake manifold off or the master clylinder! What a choice. Got my blitz furry cone induction thingy on at least, as for the zorst well, I looked I had a fag, looked again, nice one a rounded off nut on the shielding, mmmmnnn! Arsenal are on the telly, maybe next weekend!

no probs m8..

believe me.. master cylinder! take that off..

it's just no contest between the two in terms of difficulty..

to give you a clue.. i'd say i've spent about 24hrs mantime taking the inlet manifold off and putting it back on again...

master cylinder would be 2 tops....

My local Nissan dealer charged £74 inc Vat, antifreeze, new hose, new clips etc for this job after 3 other garages claimed they couldn't do it as it needed "specialist tools". Specialist tools my arse, they just wanted to keep the skin on their lillywhite knuckles. They seemed to know what they were doing as well, I was a bit shocked.

Much easier than 24 hours work

I managed to replace that hose without moving much at all, just the cruise control but the major problem is those stupid b****** clips on the hoses! Whoever designed those little f*****s wants one wrapped around their genitalia!!!

Saying that, I did manage it in less than 2 hours but the air was blue & spanners were bouncing off the walls!

Cheers Guys, took a sickie from work and did it in 1hour? just removed the Cruise bits like Shaunmac. Owe u a beer mate!
