Atfer coming into a small amount of cash i got to thinking about the car that used to be across the road from where i lived, a blue 300zx. Ive always liked em ever since i had a drive of an old bosses 200sx, i felt that turbo kick in and thought wow if thats what this 200 will do, imagine a 300 twin turbo!

So after years of pointing them out saying "i want 1 of those" i decided to get 1.

I bought my last car off ebay motors and had no trouble at all, got it for a reasonable price, went down m4/m5 for 90 miles n picked it up, reaslising i hadnt even test drove it on the way back!

so ebay i searched and found a few i liked, a 2 seaters in bright yellow took my fancy, but i couldnt justify that with having 3 kids and the £4000 asking price was a bit over my limit.

After some research i decided i wanted a 91 model or above and came across a nice lookig black 1 with a load of upgrades and 12 month mot, it was up for £2000. so i put it on the watch list and all was queit till a few hrs before it ended, it went up to £2100, so i waited till 10 secs on the counter and put a £2500 bid in knowing i was certain to win it.

Bingo, got it for £2350 my heart went bump ta di bump

I informed the missus that id just bought the car id been watching and got a "yeah rite" response.......... didnt believe me

I drive up to a mates house and say are u ready, he replies "ready for what", we're going to west wales i say, after the expected verbal abuse he says come on then lets do it!

I know its a 180 mile drive there n back, i know its 7pm and i know the weather forcast is terrible, but i had to have it that nite.

Off we set in my mates car with mutterings of "this is madness" being heard from my driver. Most of the way was clear untill we hit the halfway mark and it decided to snow like a blzzard in the artic, 20mph/10ft visablity on the M4. We finally make haverfordwest and the sat nav has giving me 6 different address for the postcode if got, so i phone the guy up and ask the street name............ i can hear him in the backround asking the name of his street, im thinking this guy dosent know the name of the street he lives in? somethings dodgy here. He asks me what i can see, i see halfords, ok wait outside and i'll meet u there he says.

Now im stuck in an empty car park at nite with a stack of cash on me and waiting for 2 guys to meet me in a black saab! By this point we had both phoned our wifes saying if u dont here from us in an hr phone the police!.

Really thoght we were gonna get done over.

The saab turns up and i cautiously go over (without the cash), after a brief introduction "follow us" they say, out of town we go and down a small lane, this is it i say, they're gonna rob us and cut us up for sheep food......

But as it happend he was a nice guy, the exchange was done and i have a nice car!

finally got it out today for a quick spin, with the help of 3 hairdressers who laughed at me saying we been watching u trying to move it for days. got the front wheels on the main road and the wheelspinning wheels (missing another car by an inch) were pushed into place by the hairdressers shovel in the boot i set of.

paid a visit to me "thats it! your out of the will buying a car like that" dad and took him for a gentle drive tried and failed to get up a slight incline but managed to get back on flat ground before heading home.

new it was gonna be trouble parking in my street but i got the front wheels in position and wheelspun the back end into a perfect parking spot.

my z fix complete, i came in thinking i really shoundnt have done that

Short story, would hate to see how long the long one was :lol:

Glad you found the one you wanted. get some pics up
