The Corolla's only fault (apart from being ugly as fook and slow lol) is that its only central locking rather than remote, which is a pain in the ass with a nipper/shopping etc.

Any idea how difficult/expensive it would be to get someone to fit a kit like this?

No chance I could do it myself but would be willing to pay if its not too expensive. I just hate having to physically lock the car....

I got a kit off E-bay for the Tranny, full kit tho' as it hasn't got central locking!

Would still work tho' using one actuator.I'll see if I can find it.............

Excellent, cheers! The auto electrician who fixed Zedwards lights for me said about £30 to fit remote cl so reckon it'd be all done for less than £60. Cheap and practical mod that!

i got this one........ http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230451013865&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

"very easy to install" it says but looking at the instructions u need to take the door panel off, test the actuator (wotever the hell that is) to determine the wiring diagram to use, then wire the stack of cables to the rite place. not even gonna atempt it

think i'll take mine to an auto electrician tho

Cool, cheers Kev, will you post up when you've had it fitted, let me know if its any good. Will also be getting an auto electrician to get it fitted. Its a chuffing mare juggling shopping, a 4 yr old, traffic etc!!

some news on this today, i went to a local auto elcectrian earlier and he was unsure if he could fit it untill he knew what motor ran the locking, so i went home, took off the door panel (its never gonna go back the way it was) then went back to the garage to show him. he said the motor i needed was a five wire rather than the 2 wire 1 already in the car.

found the needed item on ebay for £2.50......... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290340307730&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:GB:1123

but they want £90 + vat to fit it all. thought that was a bit pricey so gonna go see my local garage when they reopen.

it might work out cheaper just to have a new alarm/locking fitted so will speak to some1 next week bout it
