standard boost gauge j spec needle position

Hi recently bought a series 4 j spec tt. Only just noticed the needle on the boost gauge when engine off sits about the middle -4. When started moves slightly to -3.Is there a problem with this. Drove home when bought her fine seem to boost fine. Little bit worried now though. Advice please. Jspec car but she has uk clocks

The middle is neutral, to the left is vacuum, which is good when ticking over, then should go to the right which is boost when you boot it matey...

thanks for that what i mean my previous tt used to sit bout minus 7 vacuum this 1 sits at minus3/4 vacuum. running or not thanks

Might be a sticky needle! My stock gauge has started sticking on 0 recently, I just give the screen a couple of taps and it jumps to the correct place :)

Get yourself an aftermarket boost gauge the read outs are much more precise.

Hi, I had a similar thing when I first bought my jap spec TT. Jeff at ZedWorld found a monumental vaccum leak and as soon as it was fixed the gauge now reads a healthy -7 on idle and +7 when boosting. Hope this helps.

did series 4s have a boost gauge, did they do a uk series 4. this may be the issue, i could be wrong though
