what about some hot water treatment?

would have to be hot for a bloody long time, tbh i used a hair drier when i was messing about with my old set, worked fine with a paint scraper to seperate with constant even pressure applied.

wd40 is good to get it off.

lighter fluid brings that black stuff off a treat too. i sat my light on the worktop with the hairdryer on it's side blowing right on the edge, then wandered off for a cig, can take a while, but at least your not stood there holding it for ages...

I know some have had better success with a heat gun and immersing them in very hot water, i think most as said though use the hair dryer method :)

I,ve just used a couple of 2kw electric fan heaters to warm my centre panel , came apart really easy as you can warm a much larger area without the risk of melting anything !!

LOL... easy to miss the screws, even if you've done it before, there is a glue that will fix cracks in perspex but it cost about a tenner (ebay) however it will take a lot of work to wet and dry around the crack inside and out to get it to look good again (as the glue makes a mess).

I'd say keep the damaged one for spares , get a replacement and wait for summer when the adhesive is softer (that is if you really can't use the oven).
