Strange lights on the front of the Z!-sidelights on,everything o.k.(in the fogs/jdm) turn on the indicator and another sidelight(in the indicator lamp) comes on!-thought they could be ''running lights'' but they go off when the indicators are off! So I am wondering if U.S spec side indicator lights have been fitted?- thoughts?

no, this is something fitted to series 3 onward Z's and are called Kerb lights - designed to light up the corner when turning.

The location is pretty nice for converting to side lights, give the car a wider looking stance at night I reckon.

Mmm.... yes come across this ourselves with some MOT testers failing them, which is annoying because its nothing new and in fact a few new cars, Fiats in particular have this fitted as standard, like orange running lights on some zeds get failed yet Range Rovers / Land Rovers have them as standard!!! this is why finding a "switched on" tester is the way to go.

These are a good bulb for the sidelights in the indicator housing, bright and white :thumbup: presuming of course they are 382's.

Buy more than two though, so you have some spare, I have had some of the led's fail on some bulbs :thumbdown:

You can also get them in amber for the indicators.

 

I will mantain that these are still best for the T10's in the sidelight front fogs, if like me you are keeping them there as well, very bright and white smd's

These can also be obtained in red for the rear number plate, yes red, it looks superb :clap: and very well lit and not illegal (a bit of a grey area!!).

Many other colours are available including amber for your clear side indicators

 

For the H3's in the front fog housings I have these, again a white colour, I use these as my running lights :wink:

I know you can get H3's with more smd's, I have bought them all even the massive 68smd's (to get these to fit you have to file out the metal housing to get them through!!) but they all seemed to give off a bluey white colour, so I have decided to stick with the 9smd ones I recommend above :cool3:

I cannot even remember fitting these - oh dear, it's started :crying: but I have these bulbs in my indicator housing for the sidelights, proving very reliable so far :clap:

With the indicator on which a strong orange colour :cool3: You can also see the side indicator very clearly through the clear lense and this is in daylight.

Oh, thats why I have bulbs in mine, not sure if they work though :p

I fitted orange sidelight bulbs after I moved them to that location, it gave it a US look, but if nothing else, it pissed funkysi off :lol:
