Anybody done a plenum water bypass before and fancy helping me with mine?? I have water leaking right onto No3 coilpack and shorting it out causing a missfire, and its really pissing me off now haha.

Theres a bacon sarny and as much tea as you can drink in it for anyone willing to help :p

Fairly easy and when done right there should be no water pipes near the top of

the coilpacks !

but i would still appreciate some help. I am very unfamiliar with the engine and while i have decent mechanical skill, i wouldnt like to tackle such a big job on my own. Also it gets very lonely working on a car on your own, so the company would be nice too :p :p

Have you got the plennum off yet ?

Its TT. I've not got the plenum off yet, but i have another plenum to go on which i've painted red, so i'm going to use that guide you linked to remove the water pipes from that before i remove the old plenum :)

i done my bypass a few weeks ago and to be honest it was real easy,

 

buy yourself a new plenum gasket too as likely the old one will tear when you pull it off.

if your doing a water bypass then you mights as well remove your egr valve to seeing as your taking the plenium off bud kill 2 birds with one stone.

also mods I think this tread would be move suited if moved to the help and advise section so others can maybe help out to :)

Egr valve is at the back of the engine, it looks like the valve you get on

old calor gas heaters!

ahhh yes, i just read up on it. How do you bypass that? is it as simple as just connecting the pipes that are left?

TwinTurbo.net do a full wright up on the removal mate then all you need to do is make a blanking plate to put onto the plenium and a plug for the manifold using the old nut to secure it. Hope this helps fella
