Popped up to Doncaster last night to pick up the other half's pressy for xmas and it hit -13 on the way back(!)

It was actually so cold that even with heated washer jets and antifreeze in the wiper fluid it froze in two sticks as it squirted out!

-23 here last night according to the zed that was at 2am. this morning at 8:30 it was -14 when trying to clear the windscreen, its now warmed up to a nice and cozy -1 at the moment. so i will be sunbathing later if it stays that hot.

I'm still trying to work out what JaiKai is on about :D.

I work in an office where it's nice and warm, you guys remind me of the guys from the strongbow advert. I have a mate who's a roofer but in this weather he stays at home on the PS3.

Hats off to you guys, you wouldn't catch me working out there in this weather.

burr so cold here today at 0 deg. thats cold for the south lol.

Its around -3.5 here

another brave man of the north:thumbup::thumbup:

i like the cold, nowt better than a fresh cold morn after a hot shower, all wrapped up in me winter woolies watching all the idiots walking about in tracksuits and trainers lol

I don't envy you guys working outside in this weather - but good on you I say! Most young whipper-snappers don't know what a proper day's work is nowadays. Ever since it became illegal to send kids up chimneys.....:whistling:

Nice one Bri - how easy would it be for the mean fookers to bring you and your men out a nice hot brew once in a while?

Richard:santa:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Had polar opposites today, worked all day in the freezing cold with not a single offer of anything. Whilst the customers look at you through the kitchen window waitingvfor the kettle to be. WTF!!!! Then dropped some materials off at another job for tomorrow on the way home and got othered a glass of wine!!! If it was mulled I'd have been all over it

Belive it or not we got offered tea and toast from the next door neigbour to where we are working today!!!

we must be doing something right!! unless she wanted shagging :gunsmilie:

the best thing about working in the cold is that all the numpty's from the bedsits are inside and they dont come out annoying the fook out of me, peace and quiet

LOL - was she fit??

Just think, that could be just like one of those dodgy 1970s movies my uncle used to get hold of back in the day.......

LOL @ the swearfilter!

I made the change from a window fitter to surveyor, 50% office work, and

i dont miss it at all this time of the year. Still like the frosty mornings though.

Oh, and i go mountainbiking 3 nights a week, the windchill factor can

push it down to -20 or so on ya face, depending how quick ya going!

Thing is guys, come the summer we'll all be loving our jobs again and realise how lucky we are. Nothing beats working outside when the sun's shining. And at least at the end of our working day we have something tangible to appreciate. Nothing beats getting a job completed, standing back and thinking I/ we did that. Even when it's cold we still get the job done. Virtual pint to you guys.

I'm out at 5am, but in a toasty warm van - till I get to site :(. -9 today, out of the wind and working (fitting windows on building sites) till 4:30pm today. I was glad to get back in the van, but even happier to get home where the coal fire had been burning all day :).

I do moan when I can't feel my fingers and toes, but I'd rather be doing this than stuck in an office, seein the same four walls every hour of every day.

much better to be an outside worker than an office worker, i get sick if im working renovating a single room in the bedsits after a couple of days lol

I'm a postie and out in the village I deliver to my car said it was -16 yesterday! Thank god for long jonhs and tights! i also had a hat, scarf and hood on, all that was showing was my eyes. No wonder no one answered the door haha
