HI all,
Good news:-
On my Z is I have cured my CODE 34 problem. Tried the 1meg ohm resistor thing which did not work. But on further investigation and handy use of my Radio Shack multitester discovered that my det-sensor was not connected to the det-sensor ECU wiring. I located a nearby connector which was the same but connected to which I think is the Left Exhaust Gas sensor as the wire it was connected to had a white heat shield over it.
Did some meter tests and found this connected matched what it should be for a ECU det sensor wire. Swapped round connectors and voila now get CODE 55 all ok. For extra confirmation on the Henri Le Hir page for det senor bypass I noticed the style of wiring for the ECU end and this matched the one and now connected. It seems like strange analysis but I guess you had to be there to see what I mean. This problem had been going on for months and I guess I overlooked the obvious. So if any of you with UK cars is getting code 34 check the connectors. I did have prior knowledge that the engine was removed for work done by an unknown repairer.
Fixed my mysterious crunchy sound on my car which turned out to be a loose bolt on the support beam for the dash, you know those big pipe thingys you see when you start poking around back their.
Now for Bad news.
This morning I discovered my Water Pump now leaks, only happens when cold so the car is a bit usable. Gonna phone Pete @ SE tomorrow to find out replacement costs. If any of you guys now of prices please reply.
Scratched my brand new wing mirror on edge of garage wall. Bugger!! Halfords touch up paint for now GRRRRR!!
Ta
Eddie ;-)
