Say you buy 5 litres of fully-synth , you change your oil and filter . You have 1.6 litres left . How long does it " keep " ? I`ve got some up to three years old ! ( due to resorting , reluctantly , to Kwik-Fit and their semi-synth , in between ) .

I just wondered because service recommendations in general tend to say " Every 3000 miles or 3 months , whichever comes first " , or 6 and 6 etc .

What , even if the car has done , say , 250 miles ? !
