I've just driven from Glasgow to Stirling in my zed in the pelting down white shit I made it, Just but good god was it the hardest drive of my life!

Had a hold up in the roadworks for about 20 minutes on the slightest of hills and I really thought the old girl wasnt going to make it. Ended up slithering up the entire slope at a 20" angle at tickover in second. Never before have I been so caught out in the snow in the wrong car!

Been here about 20 minutes now and my heart is still going... For anyone who knows stirling, the most astonishing part is that I made it into the highland hotels carpark!

im not looking forward to driving home from work as its well white outside work right now and I have still got an hour and half still to go rear wheel drive and wide tyres not a good combination in snow :(

yep we've had a good covering here in the Midlands. im supposed to be outdoor go-karting in 2 hours' time and not sure whether its been cancelled or not

I was going to take my zed for a drive in edinburgh last night. Ended up taking my 406 and boy, im glad i did.

On the way home, it took me little under 90minutes to travel the 30 miles home. Could hardly see past the end of the bonnet.

It was dire took me an hour and a half to get from cambuslang to stirling. Amazingly the old girl was fine if we kept moving. Not something I have ever had to think about is the small but very important rising gradient on some motorways. Quite concerning as the

Stoppage was in the roadworks on whatno think is the a80 so barriers on both sides no way I can get out of the way of

The 'normal' cars with half sensible tyres lol

Good plan, sadly though have to get home in the old girl tomorrow. But we'll see, might have to borrow a work shogun and leave the zed up here depends how bad it is! Almost wish I had some standard wheels, would give me a fighting chance but 275 wide rear rubber really doesnt help things!

Yep. I lost it on the way home yesterday. No snow but hit an icy patch right after a sharp bend at about 30 mph. Faced the wrong way for a second then over corrected and fish tailed for a few metres then ok but wow, no warning at all...thankfully no one behind me nor coming the other way. Bit of a heart racer for a few minutes though!!

Its so bad in Teessde. CAn't quite belive MArty actually made it up here this morning and drove Zedward home!

phewwwwwww I came this close to smashing all my front end this morning and all I was doing was 15 - 20mph. Thats it im walking to work till summer gets here as im not in the mood for a repair bill right now

Nothing down here yet but it is cold, have the open fire on so its nice and warm.Today my schedule has been. Just go on the net for a bit, xbox live for a bit, then throw a bit more coal on the fire.

I bet my left nut that as soon as we have even a small amount of snow my staff stop coming in especially the ones that take time off for even the slightest thing.

LOL is that the hotel on the way up to the castle, nice hill isnt it!

I drove down to Falkirk from Ullapool yesterday afternoon, boy was that interesting. Granted I was in the daily and not the Z but believe me it is no better in the snow, BMW 530D touring with 255's on the back dosent make a good snow mobile.

Drove in ruts in the snow in white out conditions from Inverness to Kinglassie with the car bottoming on the snow at times. For nearly a 40 mile stretch I dont think I got over 30mph.

There was one funny bit though, the guy in the Saab who missed the Aviemore turn off by 20 yards, and was sitting on the verge his face looked a picture.

Yeah thats the one, had to leave the old girl at the hotel. No way she was going to come home with me!

So i got a lift back to glasgow to my bosses house and contemplated what to do. Ended up getting a lift home (lancaster) via a friend of my bosses so that was good. Although ive just got home and its started snowing here, I wish I had taken the other option and borrowed one of the shoguns.

I have my astra van which is fairly poor in the snow but we'll see! So I have to get the train back to glasgow later in the week or sometime to collect my car lol
