Ok so my nearside low beam bulb dies. I take out the bulb and clearly stamped on the bulb is H3C.

Great, off I go to Halfords to get my replacement bulb.

But, oh dear, there is no such labelled bulb on the rack of oh so many bulbs.

A Halfords chappie comes along and asks if he can help. I tell him I'm after an H3C bulb but cannot see one on the rack. He shrugs and passes me to a spotty herbert who asks again what I am looking for. Patiently I explain I'm after an H3C bulb but cannot see one on the rack.

"Did you bring in the bulb?" he asks.

"No" I say...."it's an H3C"

"Yes, but did you bring it with you?"

"No, I shouldn't need to...it's an H3C. The bulb has it stamped on the body and the manual states that that is the correct bulb for my model and year of motor. If you don't stock them, do you stock an alternative?"

"I need to see the bulb" he persists.

"But why? It's an H3C" By now I'm fast losing the will! I'm thinking why can't you look it up on you terminal?

However I decide to leave stating that I will source one elsewhere.

With renewed vigour I go to my local Nissan garage.

"Hi, I'm after an H3C bulb please" I open.

"Did you bring the old one with you?"Asks the attendant.

"ARGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" in my mind.

"No I didn't think I needed too. It's H3C"

"Well it's either this one or that one" he states offering me the two bulbs to view.

"It's neither" I sigh, "They are both too big and have the wrong number of connecting tabs on them"

"Oh well, we don't have any then".......goes to computer and googles.

"Is it like this" I'm asked.

I crane over the counter and respond positively "yes that's the one....it says H3C"

"I'll go out the back and look" helpfully offered......comes back "No don't have any of those, but can order you one"

"No thanks, I'll get one elsewhere and I leave.

Straight home and straight onto Ebay. I find some in seconds and a blink later I've ordered two pairs and paid for them £12 all in.

Two days later I frantically open a packet to reveal two bulbs.....I ordered two pairs.

I email the seller, get an apology and a confirmation of the error and a promise to send out the two bulbs, immediately.

Tonight I get home, open the packet and lo and behold....oh....one bulb....still a bulb short......AAAAARRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHow hard can it be?????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Then to put the icing on the cake having ordered a replacement complete O/S mirror for our P38 Rangie I unpack the box that arrived to day to find.............yes you've guessed it....a N/S one.......AAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH:surrender::angry::asshole:

You could buy a H3 and add an earth to the bulb housing, job done, readily available then from halfrauds :flowers:

Have you got a photo of the bulb you are after? Did you bring it with you?:whistling::lol::lol::lol:

LOL - yes, Halfrauds are notoriously bad for (a) referencing the correct bulbs for nearly every car in existence and (b) employing numpties (even a brick has a higher IQ and is by far the more ambitious of the two).

For anyone who needs some H3C's (for Jap-spec dip beam), I stock these and guarantee you'll receive them in pairs ;-) £12.00/pair. I realise they are more expensive than the Ebay variety but ours aren't made by an unknown bulb manufacturer in the Far East ... so you should only need one pair.

Terrific! I'll bear that in mind, ta :hyper:

Once in a blue moon you find someone at Halfords who nows something.

I went to three Halfords stores Sutton, Mitcham and then Croydon to get a 16mm spark plug wrench all three had the same wrenches marked 14mm on packet in locked cabinets. Asked in each store as to, Do you have 16mm. Nope.

Get to last store the guy says yep NP the 14mm is the length of the tool not the socket. So I explain Ive just been to two other branches looking at the same tool (from a distance in a locked cabinet) Then I say but its not even 14mm length its like 10" (hella alot bigger) Yeah he says its a printing error ! WTF!!
