epic pics there Jane....hope we dont get the shite here just yet as ive got about 6 weeks worth of roofs to get done in 3 weeks:no: 7am this morning my hands were that cold i could'nt get my zipper down to have a piss on site..almost got swamped:blush:

geez ill be ok getting to you in the Audi TT as its 4wd but will the zed get out?

The roads are all main ones, you won't have any problems as we're in the town = the directions I sent really are v straightforward. The zed's under cover in the garage and the Probe's on the drive so once that's off the drive will be snow free so shouldn't have any issues, plus we have grit to put down

Who's driving your TT home?

Superb pics there Jane!

make the snow we had down here in The Chilterns look like a light dusting of icing sugar....

...We're heading up to York on Saturday for the weekend; perhaps I'd best call our hotel to check how bad it is tomorrow......

As if your mum has a TT! My mum drives a proper old lady's Yaris, with cushions in the back lol

Nice one mum!

I certainly will do Jane!

Luckily our hotel is only just outside York; not far from the racecourse I believe. I was hoping to get over the moors to Whitby, but I doubt it now....

.....and I reckon it might be best to play safe and use the Rav-4 just in case!

Def take the Rav 4, not worth the risk - and def don't go out accross the Moors roads as you won't get far as they'll be closed! Head into town, York is a lovely lovely place, so many nice places to eat and go!

Sure is - probably my favourite city in the UK!

We'll be staying put in the hotel each night as they have 3 rosettes for food and I don't want to miss that. But I can safely say that Betty's will be on the agenda for many a lunch (the "Little" one on Stonegate is my fave).

Thanks for the tip!

Oooh send us up a fat rascal?!! Lovely place, even Tash likes it there. Might go near Christmas, as its such a lovely atmosphere!

Wonder if I could convince him indoors to go away for a weekend just the 2 of us. Probably not but I'll ask!

Sounds a good idea Jane - and not too far for you guys to travel either!!

Hmmm, and there's a Betty's in Harlow Carr Gardens now and we haven't tried that one so maybe we'll have to visit. Fat Rascal it is then!!

Isn't there a Chrismas Market in York a bit later in December? I know Santa is at Clifford's Tower this weekend for a Victorian Christmas themed event....

Not far at all, just Marc doesn't really do that sorta thing. He'd def do a day trip tho, Christmas market sounds lovely. If I drive down I use the park and ride, saves taking the car into the centre and its just so easy.

Have you had a fat rascal? They are gorgeous. There's a Betty's in Northallerton so not far, one of the consultants who I worked with used to bring us one back when he went down the hospital for clinics. No wonder I'm fat!

I brave it and park at Clifford's Tower......:death:

I sure have sampled the fat rascal and I know the Northallerton Betty's well too. It seems less manic than Harrogate or the big one in York. We've tried all the branches except the new one at Harlow Carr - and Julia has not been to Ilkley but I visited many years ago.....

I love my food as well - it's a key feature on any holiday I reckon!!

Didn't know you were so familiar with this part of the world! Northallerton's a nice little town. Never have to queue to get into that Betty's.

Holiday?! Not had one of those since 2003!!!

Yup - we love North Yorks and try to visit at least once a year! September is my favourite time up there; especially in the dales or out on the moors. I quite like Northallerton too and yes, you're right about not queueing for Betty's. I have even planed our sightseeing so that we passed through Northallerton at lunch times:lol:

some of the best roads in the country, we often drive out through Great Ayton, through Kildale, Battersby, Commondale etc, its awsome when you get to the top. Its like being on top of the world. Was very fun in the MR2 when I had it, was always a bit more cautious with the Zed!

i HATE the snow.............the Z hates the Snow.............ARGHHHHHHH :(

Its why Zedward is SORNed! I just hate winter!

No snow here yet. I have just mowed the lawns and washed the car, t-shirt and shorts weather, like a spring day.
