after a great night and a stinking hangover, whats your best way of sorting yourself out

for me its a quick walk with the dog, an apple, plenty of water some junk food from maccy d's and if needs must a good spew

i have noticed it takes me a lot longer to pull myself round these days, but that's just me getting old lol

how do you do it

my hangovers are that bad these days its 'nearly' put a stop to me drinking! nothing seems to help! any suggestions would be greatly appreciated lol.

i used to be able to drink till it got light, then start again the following afternoon, these days i dont even wanna wake up the next day let alone socialise again lol.

sometimes i find drinking about a billion pints of water before i go to sleep helps, but not allways :-(

ulster fry? whats in that then

a frind of mine used to make me an irish mixed grill, which was:

fried potatoes

hash browns

boiled spuds

mash and chips

:-)

ive noticed a lot of sugary drinks kill me in the morn's, a lot of pubs have gone from from redbulls to monster, my jagerbombs with vodka redbulls make me ill now with monster

the next day all i can taste is sweet monster and it feels terrible

aunt bessy's toad in the hole with a micro beef hotpot for dinner, no one would go to maccy d's for me lol

nothing potato-based then!

i generally stick to bitter nowadays lol, proper old man :-) (im 25 lol) seems to leave me a bit clearer in the morning. im trying to work out what to cook for dinner now

I always, no matter how drunk, before I go to bed make myself a full milky coffee in the microwave and throw that down.

Also, as much water as you can get down as well.

Does the trick for me :thumbup1:

Loads of strawberry jam on toast really helps me

Doesn't make the hangover any better but sure improves the taste of the vomit

the way i avoid a hangover is to start drinking earlier,,but finish at about 10pm,,i love my afternoon sessions,,,starting about 1pm,,,now i always feel bright as a button the next morning,,as ive had a pukka nights sleep,,,rather than staggering in a 2am.

depends on the hangover grade il put them into two grades for simplicity.

grade 1 hangover: had one or three more pints that you planned and stumbled home from the pub where in bed by midnight. wake up feeling very cloudy and tired not sick and no shivers.

grade 2 hangover:stayed out past 4am, walked home because you spent your last pennies on a kebab. dont remebr the walk home much and it took a very long time from what you do remember, walking to the bathroom makes you bounce off the walls and you have the sweats.

obviously there are stage 3. cronic vomitting, sorry no known cure learn to handle your drink better. stage 4 death tough your not gonna know anything about it anyways.

to cure a stage 1, bacon and egg sarnie with a pint of orange juice. take a nice shower the warmer the better, if the head still feels bad start drinking cool water. if you can go for a swim, go. purchase lucosade sport orange the one that comes in the sport bottle. get some more warm food in.

stage 2 hangover, think simular but more of it. hit the shower straight away with a pint glass and some orange, sit on the floor and ajdust the temp to suit your uneven body temp, once the orange has gone try standing up, if not let the pint glass fill naturally and drink it try again until it feels pretty ok. time for food, eat anything and evrything that looks appealing and warm and filling, start drinking coke a cola, chips are fantastic. oput a crap movie of and snooze and eat like youve ben starved for 6 months.

this does genuinly work. orange juice is full of vitam c this will sort you out, liquids will rehyrdate you and put your brain back in your skull, your body craves different food for a reason youve depleated the stores of certain things and your body knows what it needs just listen to it. and showering gets the smell and grease and yack off yoyur skin bringing instant refreshment. its by no means fool proof but ive survied many a lads week this way. being fitting fit from a stage two and ready to party again by lunch :D

i tend to start drinking pints of water after im hammered , for the last hour or so in the club then eat then get home to sleep then when i wake up the next morning normally about 0830 - 0900 am i have a nice shower and get dressed and i feel absolutley fine, no hangover no sick no headeache nothing- the water trick works for me everytime :D

eating a couple of bananas in the morning really helps me, allthough it is a bit like eating someone elses flem when your dog rough, but they are full of energy, natural sugars, and lots of potassium, which is the main salt you loose with a hangover....

or just drink more beer.

I am 99% teetotal, pretty much guarantees hangover free Sundays lol.

Having a 4 yr old early riser has pretty much put a stop to any boozing I ever did - its just not worth it.

Means I can spend Sunday morning at the gym too :w00t:
