I use the momentum 99 octane from tesco's costs a little more but the higher octanes cotain less contaminants and provides a more efficient burn only burning on the ignition strikes and not before, ive also noticed an improvment to MPG with a higher octane.

i use v-power but have tried the momentum 99 octane from tesco and cant notice any difference, i stick to the high octane fuels because of me mods.

I use BP Ultimate and have noticed a significant improvement in fuel economy compared to normal unleaded. With standard unleaded I get around 280miles per tank and with Ultimate I get around 350miles per tank (I have a 93 TT)

Regarding performance, I haven't really noticed any difference between either type.

I use shell optimax 99 ron or i will use tesco 99 ron as the car doesnt run properly without it and i notice it. IIRC BP ultimate is only 97 ron so i only use that as a last resort

If i'm on a long haul, like 300+ miles in a weekend I'll put anything in. 90% of the time its 97 (tesco/sainsburys). Never had a problem on any fuel. Performance is far more sensitive to atmospheric conditions than what kinda fuel is in the tank. IMO
