Installing an OEM Rear Spoiler

Hi all,

I'll be installing an OEM spoiler on my NA and would be grateful for your advice and help.

The spoiler in question is shown below:

It currently has four mounting points to the rear. These I have circled in red and align perfectly with the holes in my tailgate.

The 2 in the centre I have shown in more detail below, and are circled in blue. Am I correct in assuming that you simply screw IN to these holes from the tailgate end?

The problem I have is with the securing of the side of the spoiler. It looks like originally these were supposed to have clips on the side which went in to holes in the tailgate. Being an NA, I have no holes in the sides and do not wish to make any.

I was thinking of applying adhesive to the areas marked in yellow in the photo below.

Has anyone mounted one of these using adhesive only? If yes, which is the best adhesive and area to apply it to?

Any other recommendations/advice?

Thanks in advance and any help much appreciated.

Sikaflex would be the best adhesive, make sure you mask up any area's where you dont want the adhesive.
