I have a swb TT Auto, Im currently rebuilding a manual engine and when fitting will be installing a manual conversion aswell. Are there any major differences on the engine wiring loom or anything else I should be aware of that needs changing???

wasnt sure if I should be using the existing Auto Mines ECU or change to a proper Manual ECU? and again will i need to change the engine wiring loom etc?

Thanks Craig

I'm sure Andy Ish would be able to help yo out on that one, as he has just recently done that on his car. Maybe try giving him a PM?

cough!! :D

i had to do a rewire on his ecu for him ;)

As Groover said use the auto alternator loom as the manual alternator loom doesn,t marry up with the connections behind the N/s headlight .

I,ve also fitted a manual engine loom , basically there,s not many differences apart from the three connection that sit above your fuse box on the inner wing only has two plugs to go back into them , one was for the autobox and is now redundant .HTH

And remember to wire in the gearbox neutral switch to the ecu, tells the car your driving off so it can advance the timing.

Hiya Jimmer does it have to be wired to the neutral switch or can it be permanantly earthed without causing problems ? also which wire is it bud ?

Thanks

Best to wire it properly to the ecu,if you earth it the car will constantly think its being driven and idle will be high as aac valve will be held open.
