I've got the plenum off at the moment and want to do the water bypass, but I'm a little bit confused as to what I can remove and what the bypass actually bypasses? if that makes sense.

 

Are the pipes i've arrowed the ones that will be bypassed and can be removed?

 

The inner metal ones yes.

why do u bypass the water pipes?

iirc they send warm water around the throttle bodies for if the car is used in extreme cold climates, something like that, and it elliminates unnecessary pipes that could fail, and makes it a hell of a lot easier to remove/re-fit the plenum in the future..

U personally thought it was to cool the plennum and the reason we can take it off is thats its always to bloody cold in this country anyways !!

only hot water goes through the water pipes (once warmed up anyways) :) I'll be doing mine soon too, got a leak on a cam cover, so might as well do it whilst the plenum is off....
