I have an import model, will a uk fog light switch fit into the binacle in place of the blank i have??

In principle it does Dave - but it has a down side too. When it's really foggy xenon headlights are just too bright, so it would be ideal to run on sidelights with the front fogs. But you can't - German efficiency means fogs (either front or front and rear) can only be used viz ze dipped headlights.....:huh:

 

Just checked, on the merc on manual sidelights, pulling the knob does turn the front fogs on and then another pull does turn the rear fog on as well, so no need for the dipped lights to be on for these to come on in the deep fog :thumbup1:

Has any body just removed the blank switch [no cruise] and fitted a fog light switch in its place and wired up the rears on there own? if its possible thats all i want to do.

 

I do not want both sets on at the same time just a switch fitted which looks neat and tidy:winkiss:

There is a full height PCB inside the housing, so you would have problems using the space where the blank is.

Although it looks a dark blackish colour in the photo, the one I had was silver (and I think they all are, which is a shame)
