Didn't Jeff say one of your turbos had seized and that you have oil in cylinder 6? this would most likely be the cause of your smoking issue. id get that engine sorted out first before driving it around. as once its used all the engine oil in that cylinder. its only a matter of time before you lose a conrod.

Or have you already sorted that problem out?

A local shop? seriously?

Anyway, Zedworld, MJP (traders section of forum) or Nissan dealer(who will need to import them)

i thought you had a lot of oil in no.6 . if you have oil in a cylinder then you are gonna get smoke as it burns off. pcv valves arnt gonna stop the dodgy cylinder . just trying to stop you throwing money on an engine thats seen better days

Well i can tell you now, if its smoking as much as you say it is, then its not PCV valves. sounds more like blown oil seal on the turbo tbh.

You would notice the difference in the smell. steam from the exhausts dissipates rather fast.

Oil hangs in the air and smells like such.

saffy its time to bite the bullet mate . i feel for you with your car but you have had the best advise available from the top guys . you could spend a fortune and hours upon hours of time trying to sort your engine . if your engine has gone and you want to keep going with your zed then you are better off taking up the offer of ian and spending a few quid on a decent engine and putting your money into that engine ironing out a couple of little problems . theres a lot of decent guys on here and they arnt gonna fob you off with dodgy stuff or advice . get yourself a new lump and enjoy the zed rather than spend a fortune trying to put right an engine thats had its day . these cars are to be enjoyed after all.

andy

ive got the turboz doneeeeeeee

Yer done well to get that done so quick mate, but was it a recon, new or second hand unit, in short you know it was a good un? and when the old one was off was it fooked?

Whilst PCV valves cause smoke, it generally isn't excessive. If the valves rattle when shaken it usually means they okay, if they don't then they could be blocked and knackered.

With you saying the turbo's boost so well, do you know how much boost the car was running before and even after you bought it?

smithy

nothing was wrong with no.6

Saf was good to meet you today, so sorry the news was not better, but it was best you knew the full extend of problems with your zed.

The top end valve train noise was very bad as was the fact the near side turbo was seized, but the nail in the coffin as it were was the

no 6 cylinder been so low on compression (50 psi) and was also full of oil at that.

Remember also your engine wiring loom is complete toast and will need changing with the engine.

Sometimes you have to take it on the chin and dig into your pockets (or dads maybe??) but having the correct info is important.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

lol JeffTT someone thinks you don't know how to do your job.

Number 6 filled with oil = loads of white smoke = no oil in the engine = boom!

Its only a matter of time.
