My propasal, can anyone see any problems before I start?

In my quest to tidy the cluttered engine bay I have a few ideas! so could you lot cast you beady eyes over just to make sure i wont hit any problems doing the things i want?

I will be buying a rear engine bay cover from z-centre to hide all the nastys at the rear of the bay so....

1. I propose to put my power steering pot beside the brake cylinder? I will need to elongate the pipes approx 18"? ok?

2. Under the battery tray there is JUST, enough room to relocate the fuse box, I will need to cut and replace approx 50 wires, thats 100 solder joints!!! will i ruin any resistance in lenthing the wires??

3. Relocate the fuel filter beside the battery? just enough room again to fit it in! is this safe??

And lastly whats people thought on the chrome slam panels? love or hate, actually i feel a poll coming on

Thanks in advance for your help :tt2:

Read someones thread , and they moved the fuse box to underneath the wing and the cables where long enough not to cut any , cant remember who , it was last month.

Daz i've got pipes left over from moving my power steering pump if you want them??

Thanks Paul, Luckily my mate owns circuit hydrolics so i have pipes galore , braided too, thanks any way bud ,I may need some cable though

Ive seen people relocate there fuse box at the side of the right hand side front head light housing going downwards, but it think you have to extend about 50 wires to do this.

can you get hold of braided fuel pipe too??

you can get the fuse cover under the headlight panel and you only need to cut 2 wires to do it.

i left mine in place because i think you can go to far and it starts to look naked.

Thats why i left my fuse box and p/s pot. make a feture out of them :)

i,d be wary having the fuel filter too close to the fuse box just incase of a leak . would the nose cone be a better location for your fuel filter . im sure you could route the pipes under the wing .

Yeh, thats an option too, I`ve heard of the fuel filter being relocated to by the fuel tank aswell?

I would put the power steering pot under the centre headlamp panel like Douglas has, you might not need to extend the pipes either.

fusebox on one side . fuel filter on the other . assuming you have done away with the oem airbox . it would be a handy location for future maintenance .
