Hi, really interested in increasing the power of my 91 jap import manual tt but not really to sure how to do it... was thinking of an chipped ecu but don't have a clue about them or even fitting one :huh:. I've seen this on ebay

Chip mapping should be done properly by an expert who knows what they are doing, John Dixon for one. It is then mapped to match the mods done on your car and not just a general map.

Your ECU needs to be socketed to accept an aftermarket chip, before you do anything.

IMO it would be more cost effective to get it done right.

 

List the mods you have on your car to give an idea on the type of settings you will need for a chip.

not done much as not long got my first Z. I have put a Japspeed free flow cat back system with decats, fitted a Exedy clutch kit NSK2174, front and rear dimpled grooved brake discs and pads and fitted dump valves. Not to sure of where to go next from that, thats why i have been thinking of maybe a chip/remapp, was going to get a front mounted intercooler at somepoint. what would you suggest?

Air induction kit, uprated intercooler, boost controller, no point in bigger injectors, without internal mods to support the power. It depends how far you want to go within the limits of stock. Safely or at the limit.

Do a few searches on power upgrades, should yield a few answers that match your requirements

That chip will be no good because your ecu will not be socketed for this.

 

Your best in buying the ecu you posted in on craigs thread. It will be a plug in and play unlike above
