Just wandering if there are any jewelers on here? I have some gold item`s in the picture below and would like to know what they are worth, I can go to some local Jewelers but I havent a clue what this stuff is worth?

I know the scrap value of gold is high at the moment, so do I just sell as scrap? or sell the item for what it is?

I`m not in to jewelery or gold and would like to sell for goodies for my zed!!

I went to a couple fo jewellers for some prices of secondhand rings and a couple of necklaces. One of them went on weight alone, regardless of what it looked like, but another small backstreet guy gave a better price for the rings. Although gold has a high scrap value at the minute, its still nowhere near the value you would get buying say a new piece from a jewellers. IMO jewellery is not an investment worth considering even at the high end of the market.

Only the other day i saw a £17K Rolex go for £5K after 7 years, what is the point? lol

Agree, I`ve never seen the point of trying to make it an investment, but most Jewlers seem to make a nice living out of it, I will probably try at least 4 shops tommorrow for a price comparison, cheerZ Groover

The coin it self wont be 9ct, it will be min 22ct im guessing poss 24ct the band will be 9ct :) i'd check the date (should be visible from underneath) it could be a rare one!!!

Ps: does it have st george on the front???

mmm, a picture of a man on a horse with a sword jumping over a dragon, no picture on the back, so this must mean its a 1/2 soverign? the date is under the rim on the front , hope im gonna be a billionaire :cool3:

if it's st george its ermmmm common lol but still worth somin as it will be 22ct min i'm guessing no queens/kings head on the back?

the wedding band and signet ring must be higher than 9ct too? although you should see the hallmarks on those no probs ;)

Very good news!! Marc recently decided to get rid of loads of his old DVDs, he got a good amount of money really for stuff that was essentially just gathering dust! I have only ever worn silver (apart from my old wedding ring) so my bling isn't worth anything!
