Just bought the car back from a run out, was supposed to go to a cruise meet, but it started kind of juddering/misfiring on the way, so I turned around and went back...

When I pulled up on the drive the car was going up and down in revs idle quite quick like... brum, brum, brum, brum

Then when I tried to put my foot down it only revved to 2500 on the drive...

I also noticed on the way back that my boost was going right up, but the revs never moved and when I was crusing, the revs would fluctuate slightly...

WHAT THE F!CK IS UP WITH THIS PIECE OF SH!T NOW!??

Am I ever going to have a car that runs?

The old addage of you get what you pay for.

Not revving more than 2500rpm is normally the maf sensor.

Yep I'd say MAF as well..... BUT, if you have an after market air filter on, make sure that it isn't getting wet.

Of course it could be a dodgy connector on the MAF, especially if you've just recently disturbed it! Green verdigris on the contacts is a bit of a pita, spray contact cleaner should sort it, or some VERY fine emery paper.

Yeah I was getting similar problems, but they went away after replacing it...

So how do I check for boost leak?

I think I'll have to stick it in a garage for them to do, I'm no mechanic and I want to actually drive this car lol

Thanks guys =0)

yea no-one wants to have a car that wont drive properly

maybe if youve gor an aftermarket air filter it letting in water and jaking the maf's up as for checking boost leaks i donts have the tubos so i dont know..but somone on here will be able to help

Id say maf, its similar to what i was getting, once id been driving for about half hour anything that had got wet (maf or filter) was nice and dry and it was running perfectly again.

Take the maf off tonight with the filter and put them in the airing cupboard ready for tomorrow, its only a 5 min job, should be fine by tomorrow (if its the same problem i had obviously)

I had similar and it was knock sensor issue. Sorted it with the 1000ohm resistor mod untill i replaced sensor.
