Guys

half way through fitting some Greddy SMIC's. Having removed the CC on the passengers side to gain room for the IC I have found on refiting the expansion tank that it's sits slightly further back (only attaches on the top bracket & the top screw to chassis) with the tank sitting at an angle I can see that the arch liner isn't going to go back on. (not that is was on anyway).

Was hoping to get everyting back on as OEM as possible. Shirley the drivers side will be as bad with the washer bottle in the way. Has anyone used/ mounted a smaller expansion tank and smaller washer bottle to overcome this? is so details would be great.

i removed both washer and exp bottles and replaced with modified catch tanks, the exp bottle is now bolted to the rad right next to the electric fan and the washer bottle has been moved to the space next to the brake servo. with your engine though, i'm not sure you will be able to position them like that. can you not just elongate the fixing holes on both bottles to just move them back slightly?

I sacked off the expansion bottle altogether and just routed the pipe down to the bottom of the radiator area. As for the gigantic original washer bottle I've removed that and fitted a small version from a mk1 fiesta that I had in the shed.

elongating the holes won't help I'afraid Mark, see pic below

The IC pipe forces the exp. tank back at an angle. As you can see I could drill a new hole in the body work for the lower fixing point but the tank is still pissed, which stops the arch liner fitting properly. Look like I will relocate or find a smaller tank to fit the area. How big a catch tank (litres?) did you fit Mark?

I've got a spare that I could part with? Its just a small rectangular one with the motor fitted. The lids are soft plastic, if its perfection you are after bear in mind they are 30 years old (ish). You can get universal bottles with the pump attached, there was a link on here a month ago to ebay.
