warranty claim with regard to radiator (and turbos)

Guys, thanks to lymon, I reckon I know what happened to cause my radiator leak:

1) high temp fan did not come on

2) water started to boil, but radiator cap faulty, so didn't release pressure

3) radiator burst with pressure

According to the warranty I have for the car, it covers every mechanical part (except for wear and tear). I've already had the water pump repaired under this (they wouldn't pay nissans 45/h..only 35, but still paid for the majority of it). I reckon this should be a valid repair too. What do you think ?

1) electrical system fault (fan)

2) mechanical fault (pressure valve of cap).

Anyway, onto the next thing...

My offside turbo has been smoking for a while (like 2 years). Not really getting any worse, but ya never know. I suppose this is just wear and tear, so difficult to get it under the warranty. Any ideas ? Th turbos ARE explicitly mentioned as being covered in the warranty, so if one could suddenly fail, I should be able to get them replaced.

The turbos are not classed as a consumable part, so should be covered if they should suddenly stop working.....

Yes the Radiator should be covered on warrentee if that is indeed the case.

No the Turbos will not be covered as Generally the Oil Seal are a wear and tear item and that is what it failing. The part you need is only like 6 quid but the Labour is a lot more - if you get the seal fixed i would get the Turbos rebuilt at the same time and save on labor. - I would doubt your warrentee compant would agree to that.

Also make sure you keep a close eye on your oil level if you are smoking badly.
