Rant time

I sold the car over a month ago and got the MOT/tax sorted as stated in the ad, the guy had been all keen and then strung things out for a week and vanished. I had to cancel the sale and in that time another guy who wanted bought another car :mad2:

So put it back on a few ago and it sold again 2 weeks ago, even put in the ad only bid if serious as been messed around once. The guy kept in touch for the 1st week and said he was serious and didn't want to mess me about like the last guy. Guess what, he's now vanished as well, really p**sed off :mad: this has happened again. Why do these :xxx: do it, I have a mortgage and bills to pay which I need the money for and they think its funney to screw people over. Don't they realise these are peoples lives there messing with, it's not a £2.99 f**king bulb you know!!

These people need :gun_bandana::gun_bandana::gun_bandana:

Rant over. :sweatdrop:

I've sold a few cars on Ebay.

I always get concerned when the winning bidder doesn't come and see the car before he bids.

I've not been messed about on a car before, but I can imagine how fustrating it must be as I've been mesed about by people bidding at the last minute, winning and then not paying for over a week (even when I'm due to post the item to them).

My rule of eBay car selling is that the winning bidder pays a non-refundable £100 deposit within 12 hours of the end of auction. It doesn't stop some people messing you about but it puts some people off. Sold my MR2 on eBay earlier in the year, thought the bloke was gonna be a no show as he was from London and I'm in Teesside but he did show.

Report the buyers to eBay and take it from there

selling a car on ebay is very risky have you tried pistonheads, autotrader, gumtree were you can see people face to face.

Pistonheads and Autotrader every time for me, fleabay is full of timewasters I'm afraid.

Time wasters are everywhere.

I wanted to sell my zed and buy a nicer one. Sold it 3 times and they all messed me about.

Decided to keep it and spent the money making mine nice.

I had the same thing when i sold my old van.

lots of loons about i sold a motorbike at the end of july couple of emails from the guy then nothing its still sitting here , but he paid via paypal as soon as auction ended ???

a guy a know runs a bussiness with some older cars, a guy sent him a car a few years back then never heard anything back from him

Oh Dear thats crap:mad2:

On the flip side I have sold quite a few cars on Ebay (one last week)

and Never had a problem. So there are some good folk out there.

the feed back system is a load of crap, I've been a member of ebay for around 4 years now, i have 3 feed back scores and 100% , and I'm finding it bloody hard to get people to even leave feed back. I've bought a few items here and there, and most get my feed back, then don't even bother leaving any for me, peeing me right off to be honest. as when i want to buy something from ebay, if they have "no people with less than 5 feed back" i have to send them a bloody message before i do anything.

Ebay is also good if you say for sale locally and then if a serious bidder comes from ebay to view your car before the end of the auction then you could sell it to them if they flash the cash and offer the right price. Ebay is excellent to get your car exposure to loads of people sadly some of them are timewasters.
