So sorry to hear that - my daughter was born at 28 weeks, so I remember what it feels like to go through something like this.

My first daughter was also born at 29 weeks and by c-section. She was also in SCBU for a month in Nottingham Queens Med, which is 30+ miles away from where I live. She was taken over there by ambulance while my (now Ex) wife had to stay in hospital here in Grantham, so all three of us were in different places. I'm not trying to make it sound worse than what you are going through at the moment, all I'm trying to say is that you cope, you sort it out, you do what is necessary, you run around like a headless chicken for a few days..... but you'll look back on all of this time with pride, pride of what your wife has done, and pride in you new child.

Congratulations to both yourself and your wife bud, and welcome into the world to your new baby :duffer:

Hope it goes well for you mate. 20 years ago, i'd be worried. Not now.

You'll all be fine!

My daughter was also born in this hospital as she decided to arrive whislt I was visiting family in Newark!

Anyway, good luck and congratulations, the neonatal units are just amazing and your wife and new baby will be given the very best support. The weeks ahead will be long and you should try to take each day as it comes but you will soon be bringing your little bundle home

Take care

Congrats matey, they will both be fine, my daughter was born weighting just 4lbs 3oz, she was in a incubator as well for a while, and the doctors were worried she was too small to cope. which is strange as my Mrs gave natural birth, but she was early too. the nurses are a lot better equipped to deal with this sort of thing now so don't worry your self too much, everything will be fine.

Congratulations buddy, they do a brilliant job with newborns that age and know alot more these days than they used to so trust in the doctors and nurses and here's hoping you get them both back home soon :)

hope it all works out for ya :-) mine is due in january. and im sooooo excited i cant wait. its like waiting for xmas when i was a kiddie lol. ill look foreward to the post saying youve got them both home safe :-) all the best
