Childhood ambition! Always loved the look, power ,style :tongue_smilie:I started off in a 200sx and fell in love with it straight away, I knew the 300 was the next step.

Similar to Daz really.....

.....I got into powerful Japanese cars back in 1993 and always thought the 300zx was the best of the lot (including the NSX) for over-all looks, performance and style.

I had a couple of Mk3 Supras in the 1990s but the Mk4 was too ugly for me when it came to replacing my 2nd Mk3. So I settled on a 300zx and never looked back!

The Z32 was virtually perfect straight out of the box and needed very little to really enhance it. Plus it still has an ageless/timeless appeal, which it's rivals sadly do not possess (the Mk4 Supra and 3000gt have not aged as well I reckon:tt2:) even though they are still good cars.

That, and it's part of a line of heritage of Z-cars; since 1969 and still going, courtesy of the 370z today.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

was walking through town in 1992 after school, and see a black one parked outside the local post office, must of been spanking new as the shine was awesome, i remember how sexy the front looked and have always wanted one since then, then last year i got the chance to get one, and I'm now on my 3rd lol

My boss had a 350 which was a pleasure to drive but I couldn't afford one at the time so bought the 300 instead. On my second now :) Only the purchase of a new house stops me doing what I want to it!

My ex father in law had a 280z, which was then written off, so he decided to look at the 300zx, but at the time it was about £35k, so didnt get it on the end, but i fell in love with it from day 1, but couldnt afford one lol.

When i turned 40 i decided to look into them again, and hey presto, more affordable, so got one and loved it ever since.

many reasons...

love jap cars since having my mx5

want something thats properly fast

cheaper to buy and insure than the equivalent supra/3000GT/rx7

its not something you see every day (got bored of other mx5 drivers not waving to me)

ive always wanted something faster than my dads Impreza turbo :)

and i saw one in blue and looked a dead ringer for a Lamborghini IMO!

My old football manager has one when they were brand new and as a result it had been my dream car since then. Now on my 5th.

saw 1 twenty years ago when i was in london visiting relatives vowed 1 day i would own 1 and hey presto this year my dream achieved, never getting rid if it till it rusts to nothingness

My father had a 280zx then a z31 300zx then a z32 i had a 1970 240z then a 240k turbo the origanal skyline, but always loved the zed

always wanted a skyline and i had only caught a glimps of a 300zx a few times then got offerd one now the zed out wieghs the liners in more ways than one

still havnt seen that many feels good to have a semi rare car

I liked them from seeing one on another forum, as a members car and though nice. Didnt think so much about them until I was looking to replace my BMW 323i, I had been looking at an M3 but the cost was too much and then a 540i. Infact I was about to view a 540i, and had a little spark in my mnid. I wonder what big jap coupes are in my budget... So i looked at the usual suspects, mk4 supra, 3000gt, 300zx etc weighed them all up and settled on a 300zx as it was the best looking and sounded the most reliable (!!!!)

So I found one I liked, and did the worst thing test drove it and bought it without seeing any others... It was automatic, had no brakes and was actually pretty expensive (£4500 in Jan 2007) The dealer bid me in the balls for my 323i but damit I wanted that 300zx... So it was bought, and it actually did 12k miles over the next two years without giving any trouble! I upgraded the brakes and converted it to a manual and a few other bits and pieces but nothing actually went wrong! I sold it for buttons to a brother and sister in southern ireland, big mistake as it was a cracking car really - just needed a bit of tidying up. Then I had the M3 evo i had originally wanted, had that for 18 months and realised it had little soul. And here we are in my second zed, had her 10 months now.

I had 6k in my hand and i went off to an import place to see what they had etc.

I was after a supra skyline or an evo. Then i saw mine in the corner and i thought that looked a bit of alright.

tbh i hated the dash and the stupid little pods and i didnt even know what a 300zx was

Took it out for a spin and the rest was history.

so i found it by mistake :lol:

The 300zx was off my radar til about a year ago when Marc pointed one out to me. NEver thought I would own one tho, then when I sold my MR2 this summer I asked my daughter what car I should get. Her reply - "a yellow one" - and lo I found my zed for a bargain price later that day :w00t:

I saw one Behind Aquascrotum in a service road just off Regent Street. Wow! - that must be some new german super car. It just looked so menacing and purposeful in a mid metalic blue. I could not belive it when I saw Nissan on the badge.

I was then fortunate enough to go and work with a friend of mine in a Nissan dealership just outside Windsor. We a small dealership so didn't have a 300zx on as a demo car!!!!!

However.................. Nissan GB was just up the road in Denham, so if I wanted to demo a 300zx to a customer, all I had to do was drive up in my little 1.3s Micra and swap it for a 300zx:clap:

You may be surprised to here that nearly all of my customers wanted to demo the car late on a friday afternoon :whistling::whistling::whistling:

I had never had such fun demonstrating this car to potential customers and seeing their knuckles turn white on a trip round some of my favourite roads. If you can imagine how these cars performed brand new out of the factory - they were stunning!!:devil2:

Oh no!! This meant that by the time I took the car back to head office there would be no-one there to give it to! So poor old me would have to keep the car as my demo car for the whole weekend - Driving it to work and back and then driving it fri, sat and sun night.:shuriken:

Well after doing this 8 or 9 time in both manual and automatic versions I promised my self that one day I have one all to myself.......

Prices came down and my no claims bonus went up and I am now on my second one!!

Still think they are a very good looking car - possibly the only z with super car 'aspirations' IMHO.

Andy

Got drunk, went on fleebay and pushed the dreaded 'buy it now'!!!

I was always a BMW fan but wanted something different it had to be low fast and a convertible and searching Pistonheads I came across a black 300zx not far from me it wasent a convertible but it did have targas so rang the owner met in Belfast and as soon as I seen it I wanted it even before I drove it I Knew I was going to buy this machine. Its road presence just sweept me of my feet, love at first sight:thumbup: and now I have a cheeky mistress aswell:tt1:

I have always had 'fancy' cars if you like, xr3's, astra gte, sapphire cosworth, capri ghia, even an Orion!!!

I too saw hammond on the ice in top gear and looked into buying.

Saw mine on the internet and did not really want to pay that much so was looking for others, but I kept looking at mine and liaising with the owner and finally went down and bought it, first one I saw and only one I have ever driven.

It was in fact this pic below that I kept drooling over.

Dont regret it for a minute and would do exactly the same again.

The car is perfect for me in 2010

that's a genuine enthusiast right there Daffy!

for me, I wanted a turbocharged car. Simple as. I owned a Cav GSi2000 for 2 or 3 years and loved it but sadly the rust and maintenance (lol) got too much. one night I was out painting the town with a mate, walking along a road, and some lads are going round the block caning a Sierra Cosworth, dump valves 'n' all. Assisted by the alcohol, this made my mind up that I wanted a turbo'd car. Sadly my budget was only £6k at the time, and although I initially hated the look of the 300 (the way the bonnet sloped down to the headlights and the round-looking front), the fact I could have a 3.0 V6 24v TT within budget quickly changed my mind!

It was a bit more involved than that but that's how I finally ended up owning one. Best drunken purchase ever. I'd wanted one for years but could never justify the owning/running costs. I was right about the costs but every time I drive it or even look at it, all costs become irrellevent. :online2long:

Mine was similar to Richard, I was given a 3.0NA mk3 supra (my first car) Had 7 of them over the years from 2.0TT s 2.5TT etc then was looking at moving on as the mk3 was looking dated and i dont like the look of the mk4 decided to look around found 300s and its been a labour of love since, im on my second one now and spending a bloody fortune on it, But cant wait to see it finnished.

Craig

me and my dad are musicians, he was doing a gig with a band for the launch in 1989, at a massive showroom in manchester, i went along, i was only 7! the zed was there, spinning around on a turn table thingy, looking stunning, my mum got drunk and nearly dropped the targa top, and i said to my dad, one day i'm gonna get one of them, he said yeah right matey, i never forgot that day, or the image burnt into my brain, and since then i have been trying to get one, now i have :-D
