A BIG DUMP!!!!

I own a 91 Z auto. It has several performance modifications already. I just wondered if you could fit blow off valves or not? is the principle still the same as a manual? will they still work the same? and also any suggestions on what sort? oh yeah and do u have to fit 2 because it is a v6?

Yes, you can fit them, yes it is the same manual or auto, yes you need two. Whether you actually need them is debatable. However, if you just like the noise then that's probably a good enough reason. biggrin.gif

Apart from the fact that they'll only dump when you lift off the throttle, of course.. not on gearchange..

IMO They are not much good on a TT, unless you like the noise.

From my understand the dump valves do work on the TT, but only if you have increased boost.

The recirculating valve can damage the turbo when the boost is increased, where as the dump valves release the excess pressure, and hence prolong the life of the turbos.

Leigh.

I was running standard boost on my Z, and had a pair of HKS SS Blow off valves. Bloody ell they were loud!! (and adjustable if they're too loud). They cost me about £450 I think....

yeah you need two. Personally if you like the sound or the look of them go get em,

Im convinced i actually ever so slightly lost something between shifts.

BOV's are total waste of time unless you are pushing enuff air to break 600hp at the crank. Then you might want to think about them .

Yeah they do sound cool tho ! But you will acutally damage the performance of you car but probably not so much that you will notice.

Z ya
