I got mine priced up too a few years ago £1800!!!!, apparently the vinyl only last for about 3/4 years before it starts going tired/worn, stone chips are a problem when punctured and let water in, only what ive been told and may be better nowadays, but i decided it wasnt for me, a good spray job is the future.

I got quoted £800 for matt white from a place in Reigate. Id only bother if your car is garaged, outside would make a big difference to how long it lasted.

Obvoiusly dont be a Rooney and have it done it chrome if you want to pass an MOT.

You can also buy the material on ebay if you want to have a go at wrapping or just do a panel or two.

Nothing in an MOT that says a car cant be chrome

If your bodywork is in very good condition then I'd say go for something wacky with vinyl, however if you need bodywork done as well then might as well just get a respray.

I've seen the Zed silverbullit is referring to and does look good, but you can still see imperfections on the underlying pannels

common thing in the powerboat world...retains the boats original gelcoat

i know of a zed that has had a full wrap, i cant put a link up to his full process thread as its on another 300zx enthusiasts site but, the company that did it was http://www.veiledimage.co.uk.

it looks absolutly gorgeous!!

that same company did my centre airvent panel in Carbon Fibre wrap film, looks great and gave a real fresh modern feel to the cockpit :thumbup1:

A bloke with a R35 GTR had it done and it didn't even make 12 months befor the bonnet and bumper needed doing again.

May as well spray it for that kinda money.

Cars look bad enough when you can see the laquer peeling off, let alone when vinyl is peeling off to show a different colour underneath!

However, you really can be adventurous with vinyl. so could be fun with a bit of imagination!
