As above really, car smells quite heavily of fuel (this is according to others as i have no sense of smell!) and the rear bumper is quite blackened above the exhausts. I've been told the FPR needs replacing, does all this sound related and if so how easy/much to rectify? Thanks, Daffy.

my cars runin soo heavy tooo how much also my fpr was bypassed on the 300zx and i reconnected them and its misfiring bad and tweeked about with the fuel air mixure

Sounds like its running very rich, the black soot deposits on the bumper will be one symptom of this.

The fuel smell, check the fuel hoses for leaks or tighten clips. I would say that the fuel smell may be from running rich or overfuelling.

So is overfuelling/running rich related to a knackered/worn FPR? Sorry for being a dumbass and thanks for the help. :helpsmilie:

Sounds like an air/fuel mix problem - could be a number of things. Can you get your car to a Zed specialist. Sure they would diagnose it quite quick if it was something straight forward.

Could be the maf, if its giving a high reading it will be overfuelling. O2 sensors, FPR, timing out, combination of all. I would try and get it on consult, at least it will show initially what is a miss.

You might replace the FPR and all is fine, or there might be another underlying problem.

Consult if you can.

Cheers guys. As you've probably gathered I'm pretty clueless. Phone call to Silverbullet it is then. Just want to sort any little niggles as they occur. Nice one.

Yes Mark will be able to sort it for you. Let us know how you get on, always good to pinpoint the problem, that may help others.

Cheers

Graham
