October 12, 201015 yr hi all, the auto gearbox in normal mode dont seem to change gears sooner then 5k rpm what could be the cause of that? does your speedo work? could have somthing to do with speed sensor.
October 12, 201015 yr hi all, the auto gearbox in normal mode dont seem to change gears sooner then 5k rpm what could be the cause of that? as jefftt said . engine issues can effect the way the gearbox performs . he,s only up the road from you in tamworth . go and see him and jamie at zedworld . give them lads 30mins or so with your car and trust me your drive home will have you falling in love with your zed . their fee is about £30 for the inspection / adjustments . the best £30 you will spend . prior to my initial trip to see them i was convinced i,d made a mistake buying the car . the drive home afterwards convinced me it had been one of my better decisions . i know you said your mate was a zed expert but the only cars jeff and jamie work on are zeds . you couldnt be in better hands . all the members on here would say the same . good luck with you car and hopefully before too long all the little niggles will be resolved . andy
October 12, 201015 yr Author andy youve got it clear in my head now, so i know now my next target is to see jeff thanks it can be adjustments on computer soundz right
October 13, 201015 yr just a silly question - you haven't got the OD button depressed have you? that makes the gearbox change at much higher revs. OD button being on the side of the gearstick (Overdrive)
October 13, 201015 yr Author no i havent lol i know that about cars its just the electronic side i dont. i dont want to spend on stuff i dont need just trying to keep my cost low and make the car drivable its got a few oil leaks one is powersteering i think and other is engine oil but there not majour, oh anndy i rang and booked my car in for thursday :) hopefully he will tune it up it badly needs tuning to the right measurement and the tps needs to be replaced with a second hand one, howmuch will the secondhand one bee about?
October 13, 201015 yr The Od button just removes 4th gear as thats when the gearbox is 'overdriving' compared to the engine. Its the Power button you want to watch for high rev changes, there is a very recent thread with multiple causes on this, ill try fish it out but definatly as andy said, jeff is just up the road from you and will give you some worth while answers :)
October 13, 201015 yr Author ive booked it in with him and tht there charging me some money to tune it up and that :) hopefully will be sorted
October 13, 201015 yr ive booked it in with him and tht there charging me some money to tune it up and that :) hopefully will be sorted Its definatly worth it' and you'll find Jeff to be a brilliant bloke literally guiding you through whats happend. Hope all goes well. Hollings.
October 13, 201015 yr like i said mate . the first check over is i think £30 + vat . they will give it a look over and advise you on future maintenance and give you a good guide as to what order things need doing . also with you first check up they let you watch what they are doing and talk you through the process . a very informative half hour chat . as with all zeds especially one that hasnt had up to date servicing there will almost certainly be a few adjustments to be made . its amazing the difference these little tweeks make . when i took mine i thought it was a very quick car but with issues . it turned out it was in safety boost . in other words it was restricted to 70% power . half hour later it was at 100% power , gear box was changing nice and smooth and my trousers had changed from light blue to dark brown by the time i got home . all this for £34 .
October 17, 201015 yr iv got a spare set of euro dials u can have I'll take a set of Euro dials if you don't want them anymore. What would you want for them?
