does this seem about right people. for TT's with a bit of heavy foot driving most days, (overtaking etc)

o2 sensors fine

MAF fine

injectors fine

timing fine

no fuel leaks

thermostat fine.

viscous fan new.

seems a bit low, works out to about 14MPG...... even a full tank 70quid, wont see over 175-180 miles. what are you people getting and if its better than mine, any ideas....

the car has just come from Z world on and on a conzult, no faults.

as somones already pointed out, you say in another thread yours is running 13psi and this one less than ten? no wonder your not getting any straight answers fella? if its like you say, 400ish bhp and you drive fairly fast then i rekon theres nothing wrong with your car and what your getting seems about right really? i mean does it stink of fuel from the exhaust?? or does it throw flames out often? if not then it cant be overfueling by much? again im not an expert by all means, just giving my opinion.

I noticed a significant improvement in fuel economy (and drive!) when I changed the diff and gearbox oil. The oil in both was in a pretty poor state, the diff oil was like tar and the gearbox oil was brown and lumpy!

After I changed both, I ran the car for about 100miles and changed them both again. Fuel economy improved from around 22 to and average of 27 (which I am still getting) and it was like adding another turbo.

Hope this helps.

worth doing. but i dont see 18 let alone 27,

MID WALES it does run at 13 PSI max'd out with the boost controler off, but with it on i can set the boost level. and i can also tell in real time how much boost i am using, so yes i can keep it under 10psi or even 5PSI when i want, drove the ting off boost for a full tank just to see, and it still only managed about 190 something.

nevermind though.

I use a 1.4 turbo diesel fiesta as my run around which does 530 miles on 43 quid of fuel... and save the Zed for fun times (I do 2000 - 3000 miles a month due to work)

what are you people getting and if its better .

but it seems people are just giving me their MPG and figures which im not interested in.

LOL

There are dozens of reasons for low mpg, you listed the most likely reasons yourself and others have suggested other causes...

Nobody can diagnose the problem over the Internet based on your info, they can only make suggestions for you to diagnose yourself. If you cant solve it then take it to a specialist, ie back to Zedworld, to Inspect.

Ive heard, and dont quote me on this, that if you take the air con belt off, it is better on fuel as the air can pump drains fuel.

Is this right?

I could do without air con! What are windows for?

Both right. But if you drive round with the windows open you ruin the aerodynamics which will affect fuel econ as well.

You could also take off the alternator belt if you remember to charge the battery from the mains every night.
