Got into work this morning to find an email inviting me!

EEK!

Wish me luck, its for a healthcare assistant's job - thought I'd try to do a year of something more patient centred in the year prior to going back to Uni to start nurse training.

Watch this space....

Good luck Jane, hope it goes well for you. Just be yourself and you'll be fine.

cheers everyone - just spoke to the sister on the ward here, who gave me lots of tips (she'd be my manager if I got the new job and it was her who gave me the voluntary shifts to help with my nursing application :whistling:)

so with any luck I'll have the right answers and given that I already know the hospital systems well, that could go in my favour.

fingers crossed!!

Good luck mate, and i agree with Daffy - I interview a lot of people for different posts, and being honest, upffront and being yourself goes a long way.

Back from the interview - it went really well, was a nice, relaxed, informal interview. They are seekng to recruit 12 people and they had almost 200 applicants so its good to have got shortlisted initially!

Should find out on Thursday or early next week. I think that I am flexible about what hours I want and that I've worked in the hospital for years, in management as well as admin, will go in my favour, as I am familiar with the systems, hospital procedures, etc. I know from insider sources that the other candidates all came from nursing homes so I really hope my experience will give me the edge. If I don't get it, well I believe in fate, and I'll just stick in my current job til I start my training in September 2011 :punk:

Dont get your hopes up and expect the worse lol!!!! That way you will never be disapointed and think how chuffed you will be when you get it :duffer:

Nice one Jane - I hope it works out well for you......

.......but someone is bound to ask (so I may as well get it out of the way); do you still have your nurse's uniform? And any pics.......:innocent:

Why, does a white tunic and navy trousers turn you on then? :tt2:

Not many nurses wear the dresses these day - suggest you try a carry on film circa 1960 lol
