Handling problem

It might be my imagination but I feel my Z is shimmying slightly from side to side as tho there's some lateral movement in the suspension somewhere. My tyres are a bit worn so it might be that. Suspension is newish. Could this also be a bush problem?

Sounds like my one at the mo.

My torsion bushes need changing. If you look you might find they are leaking a grease. If so, they need replacing.

Another sign of the bushes going are the uneven tyre wear and slight vibration when breaking from high speeds

OH SHIT!!

You ust mentioned the exact problem my car has!!! I thought it was the crap tyres on the back which are due replacement. The outside edge is worn more than the centre. I get a slight sides ways movement especially when joining motorways under acceleration.

Is this the bushes??

Sounds like Sha**ed rear shocks or Hicas arm bushes and/or coupled with out of track rear wheels. Beware fitting new tyres till its fixed. A Z out of kilter can eat them in 1500 miles.

Classic on the rear shock is a sideways sensation when the rear wheel on that side goes over a bump.

check the shocks for wetness and do the bounce test with the ignition on and the handbrake up and down - up sets the rear shocks of a TT on hard - diagnostics - handbrake light on = rear shocks on hard - On stuffed shocks you might not feel a difference in resistance. If you drive it on a bumpy road and put the handbrake on a click to get the light on you should feel the back end stiffen up immediately.

One click handbrake trick worked for me to prove that my siocs(Welsh for Shocks! LMFAO biggrin.gif) were Phuket big time! wink.gif

Since new siocs...sorted! biggrin.gif

Only one note - the handbrake trick only works on UK 300's, not imports - imports have single setting shocks.. (So wont work on Leighs, since his is an import)..

yeah sounds like shocks to me, Az and myslef can contend that one. I thaught it was hicas links bushes the interior seat the spaere wheel the dumpvalve the oil i put i the car the fact that kabul is being bombed, and all it was was a simple shock. I still say alway slook at the most common simple things and then go through process of elimination.

Sounds like my problem,

If the shocks have had it can anyone recommend a replacement and costings!

Cheers Roy.
