Hi everyone, I ran with 15psi last year and blew my piston apart, next year I am hoping to get it back upto 15psi. But not before making sure the car can take it safely. What exactly should I be doing and getting fitted? Sorry guys I admit I am no mechanic and have very limited knowledge of engines...

Thanks for the help :-)

Dan

Be going around tracks on two wheels and a door handle once you get that fitted mate, oil surge will be a distant memory :gunsmilie:

agree with jimmer, bearings usually go before anything making an oval, so the rod hammers the crank on the up and down stroke. i knew there was something else i needed to add lol

good to know ther forged and can take some stick

Any other parts forged jimmer or is it just the rods??

a bit off topic and a little bit of a school boy question..

im running stock boost which is 9psi i think and i dont have any mods and still have the complete airbox assembly....with the listed mods exhaust induction intercoolers and boost controller will i feel much of a difference, say running at 12psi maybe even 14 psi?

And relative to you guys TT's running 14psi would you leave me for dust?

sorry about this its just been the most relative thread to ask the question :P

Yes you certainly would feel a difference and yes I would leave you for dust as your standard.

you would need to get it chiped though to cope with the higher boost. you can get a chipped ecu off AndyP for about £100

I have gone from 13psi to about 16/17 (1.2bar) and that was a huge differance

im running 15psi on stock internals and tubs. only upgrade zedworld ecu upgrade. oh and brand newly installed hks super drager exhaust and decats. thing is i think a disaster is on its way, bottom end has been knocking for a year only a little which a cant work out. and over the weekend gearbox has started whinning. oh no

aron

If its in good condition to start with then it will handle a 15psi power upgrade.
