Richard, what on earth has been done to this Zed? was doing 60 on the M1 this morning on the way to work put my foot down to overtake a lorry and wheel span even in 5th? Its seriously fast, going to have to take it easy i think, felt like the back end was going to step out due to the acceleration, ok didnt help because it was light drizzle but still.

Anyway lunch lol

crap tires ...

Its got Bridgestone Potenza on the rear. i don't mean it span instantly, but around half way through turbo spool

Gotta be tyres.

My old Z (silver streak) use to spin in 1st and 2nd, chirp in 3rd and hold well in 4th and 5th. In the wet you still wouldn't get any spin in 4th and 5th. That was wearing Eagle F1's (GSD2's) all round.

I have Sunny tyres on the rear of my car and they are lethal - especially after dry spells when it starts drizzling. Ive spun the wheels in fourth but generally I have given up trying to go quick, by the time I get to 5th...

Needless to say the performance of your car probably is epic, but decent tyres would tie the arse down no end. Makes the biggest difference to your driving experience guaranteed.

Either poor tyres or badly setup rear suspension? How much of the tyre is on the road? Shouldnt be spinning up in those higher gears. I know mine certainly doesnt!

I imagine it's the tyres. I still have the Jap spec Bridgestones on mine (waiting to buy new alloys) and they provide very little grip in the wet. Even coming off roundabouts at slow speed I get sideways sometimes and mine's an auto!

I let about 4lbs of pressure out of the rears, so they are running at about 30psi, this helped make them slightly more predictable but they still remind you you're alive from time to time!

Go steady.

snake up the road at 70 LMAO, is this car 800WHP by any chance?

what mods vodkashots..

Its pushing around 360 - 370 BHP with the mods.

- Greddy ecu.

- boost jets giving 14psi

- Powerflow decats connected to Mongoose exhaust system

- HKS Air filter.

- lowered all around by 2inches. and the ride is very stiff, so this could of had something to do with it.

And please note, i didn't say "i snaked up the road at 70", i said it wheel span in 5th from 60. :dots:, i also stated that the weather was light drizzle, which also plays a factor.

vodkashots, i was quoting the other guy who 'owned the car before you' 360-370 is no trouble at all in these cars after 2nd, i know of a few 500bhp Z's that dont spin in 3rd let alone 4th. takes huge power to do so, unless you have tiny wheels and tyres at the back...

very strange though. i dont even spin up in 3rd, and my cars over 400hp easily.... but im running continental 285/18s on the back.

Im running Bridgestone potenzas on the rears at 255/40/17 and trust me, it did spin. doesn't help as i don't have a spoiler on the back, but i doubt that would make a blind bit of difference to down force at that speed anyway lol

Does it actually bother you (or worry you) that the wheels spin? I find it keeps me on my toes and to treat the car with respect. Its kinda nice to have a bit of a challenge. That said, you don't want to get bitten somewhere down the line - best not to overdo it when its wet, eh!:cool3:

Yeah sure did wake me up a bit :D made me feel alive, but i will be taking it easy-er. i didn't get the car to run it off the road showing off. :D
