sorry if they're a post on this but could anyone tell me what the diffrences between the swb and lwb models exept for size that is

SWB = 2 seats (sports car ;) )

LWB = 4 seats (family estate)

 

SWB models come as slicktops as well

 

You mean which parts are specifically different? - that would be one hell of a list...basically (but not entirely or exclusively) parts from the A-pillars back.

 

or do you mean specification wise ? - LWB is a 2+2 (4 seater), longer wheelbase vehicle. SWB is a 2+0 (2 seater) shorter wheelbase vehicle.

Its only pointless if you think your going to get people in the back.

Kids in booster seats yes, it can be done.:clap:

 

Adults, still can be done but best make sure they are not taller than 5'4" or have very long legs.:no:

 

The other good thing about having the 2+2 is if you have no kids, and no friends, you can always rip out the rear seats and you now have added room for more speakers to make you go deaf quicker. or you could turn it into a small champagne bar (I'm not condoning drinking and driving) or better yet a place to put your DJing equipment.:walkman:

 

Failing that, it will make a decent getaway car :ph34r: and the added room of removing the rear seats means you can now transport cadavers to the nearest river along with some carpet and bricks. :gunsmilie:

 

But the best thing about the 2+2 is the fact you don't have a fuel tank more or less strapped to your back:nuke:. its safely tucked away under the car.:cool3:

The lwb looks in proportion and the swb looks like a cut and shut :)

hmmm, i was originally going to go for a SWB, but seeing them side by side, id have to agree that the LWB does look better! I'll admit i'm very unlikely to use the +2 bit, but the seats fold to extend the boot space, which means it should swallow more than enough for a week on the continent.

Legroom.

I now have both and to be honest each have there advantages but with the SWB being rarer it will be the most sought after.

T top seals different size, tailgate different size as with quater panels and windows fuel tank is infront of the axle on SWB on LWB in the rear exhausts different length hope this helps

Owned several Lwb's, and loved them at the time. But owning a Slicktop SWB now I could never go back to the LWB. I can feel the flex and wobble in them just going down the road in comparison to the Slicky.

 

Thats not to mention the noteable handling benefits.

 

Looks is subjective. Some Lwb owners say they prefer the stretched look, but I bet most of their fav Z pics are of Shorties, perhaps without them even realising.

There is no difference in drivers legroom between swb and lwb. Perhaps your seat rail had something jamming it.

Perhaps the height adjustment of the seat is set wrong? This would elevate your arse and give you less leg room! (side to side on the electric seat switches ;) )

am probably gonna get rid of the rear seats in time to save some wieght and as i dont have kids no need for them and most of my m8s will want the front seat you know the one behind the stearing wheel :tongue:

as for the seal they will need replaced the seats were kinda wet today

the swb is also quite a bit lighter, i would much prefere my fuel tank in the middle of the car than sitting out the back like a big petrol filled bumper.

yeah i have a Lwb, not but i needed the extra room for my belongings, and not people. ive already removed the rear seats, fitted some buckets and i think im going to make a shelf over the rear seat wells for some ICE. :santa:

both are beautifull cars, i wanted a lwb tho because i want to carry passengers. My last car had no rear seats and it was very annoying, also makes distance jounerys with friends cheaper. I brough azed because i wanted something that looked great pulled like atrain and i could stick four people in and chunter across the country. well i dont do much long distance driving but its nice to be able to pick teh missus up with her crap and her mates, without leaving them stood there in the cold.

Not the first time for a thread like this, probably not the last. My lwb has carried plenty of kids and adults, although mostly sub-5'8" in the back. Adults tend to complain if more than 30-60mins (as would I), yet kids are happy as anything.

 

What I think is cool about the lwb is that at least the seats in the back are actually usable - unlike so many other so-called 2+2's.

 

I was looking at getting an old XKR, forget it, so many sports 2+2 rears are useless. Has anyone tried sit in the back of a TT?

 

As for looks, I think the lwb is great, but thinking that the swb can be thrown about more - is that true swb owners?
