my 1990 Z has had the EGR and AIV valves removed. I now want to get rid of the solenoid valves that go with them. Both these valves are in front of the bulkhead in the corner on the drivers side, but there is also a small black plastic box, about the size of a matchbox, that has an electrical connector and also a vacuum tube. This tube runs to a T-piece in the AIV vaccuum line going to the balance tube. With me so far?

 

If I remove the solenoids and the black box will it upset anything else? Also what is the black box?

I *think* the box you are referring to is the sender for your stock boost guage..

 

Sure you can remove it.. but your boost guage wont work anymore
