yesterday after driving for about 10mins, i pulled up at my destination to find that all of my coolant was escaping from the car. from underneath it looked like it was coming from the back of the engine. haven't had chance to look under it yet, but its going on a lift tomorrow. hopping its just a split hose. was well and truly gutted.

Anyone no of any prone places to split in the engine bay?

Dunno about prone places, but i know they can leak from under the plenum, you might be lucky that its one of the pipes leading too or from the heater matrix, i say lucky but its still a bit of a job to reach, but at least the plenum doesn't have to come off.

N/s turbo water feed is prone and a git to do!:chinese:( if yours is a turbo of course!)

well it could be any of the 3 turbo coolant hoses or the heater matrix pipes but here is a tip if you have one hose gone, replace the turbo coolant pipes (water bypass) in silicone and also the heater matrix pipes because if it's anything like my zed when i bought it as soon as i replaced 1 pipe another would go, i ended up replacing every coolant pipe

Very bad luck mate - really hope you get it fixed.

Went to see that Prelude earlier, really nice car but the dude couldn't find the log book so we're waiting to hear back about that. If he gets it then we'll buy the car, if not we'll be in touch about your Civic

well it is still a mystery. after being up on the lift, there is now no leak. there is signes of a slight leak, but nothing too dramatic. however after giving it the beans on the way home and getting a bit of presure on the system there was a hissing sound after the engine was killed. it looks to be coming from the top in the drivers side.

just seems strange that one day it'll piss all the fluid out, but after a day of being stould, it'll then do a 14mile trip and the level will bearly move. them engine fairys must of been out and fixed it for me.

hopefully getting a preasure test tonight if the weather sorts itself out, so should hopefully expose the problem.

well found the problem, one of the hoses at the back of the engine on the top drivers side has a little split. its a right angle bend. looks like its going to be a ******* to change because the rest of the pipe goes quite far down.

Jane is that photo on linthorpe road? are you parking there for uni. if so, the road just a little behind your car (not too sure of the name, but its just after the black ladbrooks) if you go all the way to the bottom of that its free to park. thats where i parked all last year.
