hey can anyone help me out.

on the bumper there is lights that sit in the housing with the indicators.

what are these both mine arnt working

if it's a UK front then it's the sidelights

The side light on a Jap are in the fog light housing. Some jap models had a curb light that comes on with the indicators, in the same housing.

both dont seam to do anything.but they have bulbs in them

now that youve said that the bulb holders are in very poor condition so this might be the problem.....off to the scrappies i go.

try turning your sidelights on, then trying each indicator, could be the curb lights that light up each side when you put your indicator on so you can see the curb (as said above really)

Youre better off with them not working. i took the bulbs out of mine cos it looked shit.

 

Supposed to come on with an indicator when your lights are on to "light up the side of the road". Totally useless.

 

About as much use as the annoying tone in the cabin when i put my car in reverse that only i can hear. i mean.......why?? i put it in reverse, i know i'm moving backwards, so why the stupid audible tone??

thats good just aslong as theyr not needed for m.o.t,was meant to be in today but had to swp till nxt wed.found another couple of niggles that it might fail on.

they're is sum stupid stuff in there.my gripe is the ping when the doors open.

Luckily i don't have that but i'll swap you for the reverse tone lol :)

Why not do what I have done, remove the sidelight bulbs from the front fogs(keep them in if you like) but crimp into these wires and use the 'kerb lights' as your new always on side lights.

Also give you a wider looking stance :clap:

Pic of course shows fogs on with the sidelights, both come on when you just hit the front fog button :thumbup:

I've modded my front fogs to LED sidelights anyway. Looks really cool. 3 strips of LED's in each lamp :)

 

Can't photograph it though cos it's so bright it just looks like a big white blur on Camera.

both are white lights and match quite well for little cost :clown:

These might be better/brighter for the front fogs, that is if they are not too long :tongue_smilie:

werent these lamps you talk of compulsory for the US models , think that they had side lights along side the indicator and the ones on side of the rear bumper were lit on the states models but left bulbless on the jdm versions,bt of useless info but the sidelight bulb holders on the daf 85 lorry fit perfect lol..

Last MOT the swines made me change the little number plate, I took it off, then put it back after the MOT and then it just fell off somewhere...so I just put a normal one on.

I will look tomorrow through my old emails as there was another car at the time I was buying mine with another similar reg to ours.

Similar car to mine also.

The small plate on the front of mine just sailed through the MOT :wink:

I have looked through the emails and the conversation I had with mine's previous owner and although it was remarked how similar a reg it was to mine, it is just not stated what the number was, and the pistonhead link of course no longer works, shame that :hammer:

All i know is that it was a Kent car, auto with a scorpion badge on the bonnet (mine had one I believe when it came over as well), i think it was red and had a GTR badge on the rear, was for sale about a year ago.

Sounds to me like its another M*** SMV that is out there :cool3:

Imported by the same Kent guy as far as we can tell as the red auto I mention, hence why mine and this one had similar plates.

mr knight i also find the reverse bong fairly amusing. but very usefull on the drive home when id never driven an auto before at least you know your in it. it can be so easy to want to flick it up rather than down from neutral when youve been driving an manual for weeks. its the horn that makes me laugh
