I have exactly the same problem and have not been able tyo figure it out.

A: Could be your steering is not on exactly straight

B: Jack rear wheel sup and see if the wheel moves left to right. That would indicate a hicas link.

what is happening is the car is not tracking and indicating that to the hicas so it is switching itself off.

When light comes on it locks the rears straight...i.e. "safe"..is that true?. I think someone on the forum told me that.

The problem is that your steering wheel is not centred properly. Have you had the wheel off recently??? As far as I know the HICAS does lock into straight ahead when the light is on....

CheerZ,

Andy

Can anyone shed light on what happened with mine, then., please?

I started my Zed up one cold morning and the HICAS light came on. I let the engine warm up and turned the wheel to start moving and it went off. This was about 2 weeks ago and it hasn't come on since. Did the fluid level just settle deeper in the cold, or become more viscous or something? The wheels were straight in the parking, not an angle or anything.

Is it time for a top up?

Thanks

I have heard about this miss alignment of steering wheel..went to check it..how is this lined up correctly? There dosent appear to be any obvious alignment marks??

Any ideas...suggestions so I cam check it again..

Andy D...see you tues eve to pick up calipers...cheers mate

My Hicas light comes on when its cold and you start up, but then goes off when the wheel is turned. I just think its gets very cold and thickens slighly and needs a bit of a nudge. Check the level any case though.

It's important to check the level in the resevoir as I had this problem until i got into the habit of checking it more regularly.
