Newbie question.

 

How is the exhaust made up?

 

Turbo - downpipe(with cat in) - middlebox - Back box?

 

Ive got a cat back, so if i get a decat (like the one just sold in the wanted section), will that be from the turbo back?

decat comes from the front elbows to just pass the gear box

LWB, is Turbo, Elbow, cat (or down pipe same bit of tube) center section, rear section, back boxes (on OEM)

 

Or if after market cat back is fitted.

 

Mongoose system is

 

Turbo / Elbow / Cat / Back boxes

 

Other after market systems can be

 

Turbo / elbow / cat / cross over / back boxes

Ive tried to find a diagram on google.

What is the elbow? Do you usually change them or just bolt from it?

So they basicly just connect the downpipes to the turbos. Do they restrict flow?

Worth changing?

only worth changing if going for divorced elbows, they don't restrict the flow, they help keep the back pressure needed to help the turbo seal, seal.

decats will give you about 15bhp more

I just need decats then!

I note that you were after a middle box exhaust, did you manage to find one as I need one too. I have an apexi rear silencer and I just need the middle box after the cat?

Oh, no sorry Jim, got everything apart from the centre bit, spoke to a mate of mine who is an excellent welder and he said once the new engine is complete/in the car he is going to do a custom fit on the exhaust... so good news =0)
