rear steer

have you had any work done latey such as tracking or anything else that required an ecu reset?

if the ecu is reset without the steering angle at zero then the hicas will default zero off centre. a flat battery with the wheels turned may also cause this... if you have datascan or conzult, set the steering wheel to dead straight and do an ecu reset (with the engine NOT running). this will set the hicas back to true zero and eliminate this as a possible cause. if you dont have datascan or conzult im sure some1 local will be willing to help you out.

with the ecu and hicas set off centre it wont normally put up a check light so as you get a warning light you may have a different, possibly mechanical fault. then again the most common reason for the hicas light on is low level on the reservoir so this would be a good place to start. if the fluid level was really low it could prevent the hicas from returning to zero but you would probably also notice irregularities in the power steering?
