Spent £1151 having a roof repaired on one of my rental properties in June. First sign of rain again and their is water pouring through the ceiling :censored:.

Just had another roofer look at it and he said they have not done anything worth mentioning up there. Simply got up there and stuck some cement in a few holes, not mended anything not used any lead or anything!.

Whats worse as it was someone that is supposed to be a fried.. what a shite.

I hear of it all the time, bad workmanship, over priced , unreliable!! how do they get a way with it?? I would never be like that, but thats why I am always busy

Always get 3 written quotes, from trusted ,recommended tradesmen, and dont pay until you are happy, and make sure you check their work!!

go for a roofer thats been trading for 32 years without advertising there trade..find one thats come recomended with proof of his workmanship and never pay a penny up front untill your happy with the job..also ask to see his public liabilty insurance which currently stands costing £12,000 per year then you know he's serious about his company. Its a pity your that far away as all the above refers to myself and my company..goodluck getting it sorted mate:wink:

Yea a had some work done recently by a company that came highly recommended and av had nowt but bother since, paid top dollar too, bit of a shitter eh? A know of at least two other people who have had similar work and are also having bother so am going to trading standards

I knew there was someone I'd seen on here who was a roofer... what sort of area do you cover? As far as Kendal...?

think it's a fact of most trades these days, the days of pride in work are long gone for most :(

I just recommended a roofer to a friend of mine, the guy turned up, quoted a price which was agreed and then never turned up to do the job. Useless!!!
