My HID's are not so great, they havnt been very bright since I bought the car, I did look today and they are only a 35w kit. What does everyone else use? Should I be using a 55w kit? Also do I need H1 or H4 (or different!) for a JDM car?

35w Kit is more than up tp the job.

 

Providing you have a 6000k or lower kit then its more than likely a case of dirty headlight inners, they may not look dirty but they will be, the difference is very apparant between a set thats been taken apart and cleaned and a set that has not.

 

Only drawback is removing headlights and dismantling is a bit of a pita job.

I cleaned my headlights and the lense and it made a huge differance.

 

But i think im running 55w ?

Shall I take the easy option and buy those 99 spec lights that Daves_zed has for sale? They are cleaned. A nice upgrade with the 99 spec inserts as well?

dunno about the inserts, but hid's are on my list, i cleaned my healights recently, and even with bog standard bulbs, the difference is massive.... they look so much better and cleaner in the daytime too... i guess ya don't realise just how much muck is in there. and yeah, it is a PITA, but once ya've done it once......
